COVID-19 information, updated for summer 2021

We are using this page to share information specific to Derby Lane Cottage and the area that may be hard to find elsewhere. It is not intended as a comprehensive resource.

General Information

Please check the Keep Maine Healthy page for current information when making your reservation and before your arrival.

We have always taken special care to clean the houses thoroughly between guests, and we are adding additional steps to protect against COVID-19, following guidelines set by the CDC and the state of Maine. Some examples:

Record keeping

If you are not from Maine or one of the exempted states, the state of Maine requires that we collect a Certificate of Compliance form from each adult in your party. (As of February 12, 2021, these states are exempted: Vermont, New Hampshire.)

Sites like Get Tested COVID-19 can point you to local testing centers. If you are driving up, you might be able to stop in York Hospital's Rapid Testing Center for a test.

The governor's office has also provided a list of testing sites in Maine.

There are some differing interpretations of Maine's quarantine rules:

If you do choose to quarantine and want to avoid unnecessary trips out, we are happy to deliver groceries to you once or twice during your stay. Restaurants in town are mostly supporting curbside pickup of takeout, and a few have added a delivery option.

Bar Harbor

Town was quiet in early summer of 2020, but picked up later in the season. We expect most restaurants and shops to be open, but to enforce mask wearing and other precautions. Many restaurants are offering curbside pickup, a few have started local deliveries. Acadia's trails and carriage roads are open, and the Island Explorer shuttles will run a limited service.

As always, we are here to answer any questions you may have. The best way to contact us is via email: We hope you can find a way to visit us this summer!
